Chocolate Chip Cookies

Who can resist chocolate chip cookies?!  I have tried many different chocolate chip cookie recipes over the years and this is by far the best.  They are appropriately named as “The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies”. 
The important question is “Can you eat only one”?

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies  
Prep Time: 20 MinutesCook Time: 10 Minutes Ready In: 1 HourServings: 24

“Crisp edges, chewy middles.”


  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons hot water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips


1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
3. Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned

  1. This reminds me of the recipe on the nestles bag of choco chips. I use one from Joy of Cooking, one of my go-to cookbooks. I added you to my google reader so I’ll not miss your recipes. I can see that you are some kinda cook! I’m probably too lazy to make homemade ravioli, lol…I have 4 blogs in all, so I don’t have a lot of time, but I’ll try to let you know that I’m here from time to time.
